We are both proud and excited to announce our involvement with The Christchurch Food Festival Event 2012, where we will be hosting a number of our successful ‘Cookery Party’ sessions for children aged 3-6 years. Organised by the Christchurch Food Festival Education Trust, the sessions will be held in the ‘Rotary Kids Kitchen’ at The Priory School, Wick Lane, on Saturday, 12th and Sunday, 13th May 2012, between 10.30am-12.00pm and 2.30pm-4.00pm.

1 1/2 hours of cooking, creating and having fun, including cup cake decorating, party games, lunch/dinner and a goody bag to take home!

Ingredients

• 100g (4oz) unsalted butter
• 225g (8oz) plain chocolate, broken into pieces
• 110g (4oz) milk chocolate, broken into pieces
• 2tbsp golden syrup
• 100g (4oz) honeycomb pieces broken up
• 100g (4oz) mini marshmallows
• 100g (4oz) cut up pieces of dried apricots
• 225g (8oz) digestive biscuits, broken into pieces
• Icing sugar to dust

Method

1. Line a 20cm (8in) square cake tin with baking parchment.
2. In a large pan, heat the butter, plain & milk chocolate, golden syrup, and stir together with a wooden spoon.
3. In a bowl, place all of the others ingredients, poor this into the melted chocolate and bind together with the wooden spoon.
4. Pour into the lined tin and leave to set in the fridge for a minimum of 2 hrs.
5. Remove from cake tin and slice into 16 snack-sized rocky road bars.
6. Dust the rocky road with icing sugar to serve.
